Woven Patch Styles & Options

Standard Damask Weave
The industry standard. Uses a tight weave structure for a smooth, matte finish.

High-Density Micro Text
We tighten the loom tension to render text down to 2mm height without it breaking up.

Custom Shapes & Sizes
We laser-cut the perimeter. We follow your exact logo contour—no need for a standard circle.

Up to 12 Colors
We weave up to 12 distinct thread colors into a single design without adding bulk.
Factory Insight: The “Marine Layer” Warning
San Diego’s humidity and salt air (the Marine Layer) are tough on adhesives. If you’re ordering patches for Naval Base San Diego or a surf shop in Ocean Beach, don’t trust Iron-On backing alone. Salt air eats the glue over time. The corners will lift.
Where Woven Patches Are Used in San Diego
Military & Defense
Name tapes and unit insignia near Miramar & Coronado. Woven is lighter on the flight suit and makes small rank text legible.
Business Uniforms
HVAC, hospitality, and service brands from UTC to Downtown. Professional branding that sits flat on a performance polo.
Schools & Teams
Clean logos for clubs, universities, and youth programs. Lightweight enough for soccer jerseys.
Brands & Events
Merch for Comic-Con, startup expos, and retail labels. High-definition branding for hats and bags.
How We Price Woven Patches
We don’t pull numbers out of thin air. Pricing comes down to material consumption and machine time.
What Moves the Needle
Size
Bigger patches take more loom time. Simple as that.
Backing
Adding Velcro or a heat-seal backing adds a secondary processing step after the weave is cut.
Laser Cutting
Complex shapes take longer to cut and seal than standard squares or circles.
Quantity = Biggest Savings
Setting up a weaving loom is a pain. We have to align the warp and weft threads perfectly. Whether we run 10 patches or 1,000, that setup time is fixed.
The Logic: At 50 pieces, the price-per-unit drops hard because you’re spreading that setup cost out. We can do smaller runs, but the unit cost will sting.
Production & Turnaround in San Diego
We run a tight ship. We don’t overpromise dates we can’t hit.
Proof
from file upload.
Production
after you say “Go.”
We ship county-wide. If you’ve got a deadline for an event at the Convention Center or a deployment date at 32nd Street, tell us upfront.
Why San Diego Customers Choose Us
True Micro-Detail Weaving
We don’t guess at the resolution. If your logo has text under 3mm, we flag it. We check the proofs to make sure your company name is legible, not a blur of thread.
Color-Accurate Production
We match your brand colors to the nearest Pantone (PMS) thread code. Since the weave is tight, the color is solid—it won’t look “washed out” by the fabric underneath.
Straight Pricing
You pay for the patch. No hidden “digitizing” fees. No surprise shipping surcharges.

Request Quote NowFrequently Asked Questions
How small can text be on woven patches?
Down to 2mm in height. Because the threads are woven together rather than stitched on top, we can get much sharper lines than embroidery.
What is the difference between woven patches and embroidered patches?
Embroidery is thread stitched onto a backing (raised texture). Woven is thread woven to create the fabric (flat texture). The woven is thinner, lighter, and holds more detail.
Are woven patches durable enough for uniforms and daily wear?
Yes. In fact, they resist snagging better than embroidery because there are no loose “floating” threads on the surface to catch on equipment.
Which backing option is best for woven patches?
Sew-On is the standard for longevity. If you need stiffness, we add a plastic backing layer. For tactical use, we sew on Velcro®.
Do you match brand colors and Pantone codes for woven patches?
Yes. We use standard industry thread charts to match your Pantone (PMS) codes.
What is the minimum order quantity?
The efficient minimum is 50 pieces. We can do fewer, but the setup costs make the unit price high.
How long does production take for woven patches?
Standard production is 7–14 days.
Can woven patches handle complex gradients or photo-style artwork?
Woven handles geometric gradients better than embroidery, but it’s not a photograph. For true photo-realism, you’ll need Sublimated (Printed) Patches.
What border styles work best with woven patches?
Merrowed (Overlocked) borders are best for standard shapes (circles/squares) to prevent fraying. Laser-Cut is required for complex, custom shapes.
Do you deliver nationwide?
Yes. While we focus on San Diego logistics, we ship across the USA daily.
Are woven patches washable and safe for dryers?
Yes. The polyester threads are colorfast and shrink-resistant. Note: If you use Iron-On backing, high heat in a dryer can re-melt the glue. Sew-on is best for heavy laundering.
Do you offer samples before full production?
We provide digital proof for free. If you need a physical “in-hand” sample, you have to pay the setup/mold fee upfront. We can’t set up the whole loom for free.
